The Indian government expressed deep shock at the tragic loss of lives in Northern Gaza during the delivery of humanitarian assistance on February 29. The situation in this war-torn region is a matter of extreme concern.
Over 100 people lost their lives on Thursday as a very large crowd, desperately seeking relief, gathered around an aid convoy. The government reiterated its call for safe and timely delivery of humanitarian aid and assistance.

While unequivocally condemning terrorism, India has also expressed concern over the mounting civilian deaths in Israeli military strikes in Gaza and supported a UNGA resolution calling for a humanitarian ceasefire.
“We are deeply shocked at the loss of lives in Northern Gaza yesterday during the delivery of humanitarian assistance.
Such loss of civilian lives and the larger humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to be a cause for extreme concern,” said govt in a statement. “We reiterate our call for safe and timely delivery of humanitarian aid and assistance,” it added.
India has consistently condemned terrorism unequivocally and has expressed repeated concern about the loss of civilian lives in Israeli military strikes in Gaza. Additionally, India has actively supported a United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) resolution that calls for a humanitarian ceasefire. The focus remains on ensuring the safety and well-being of civilians caught in the conflict.
