An Israeli diplomat son Avraham Gil, 19-year-old, experienced an assault by another inmate in a Miami-Dade County jail holding cell on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024, as reported by the New York Post.
Avraham Gil, the 19-year-old son of an Israeli diplomat, was previously arrested on January 27th for allegedly running over a Sunny Isles Beach police officer with his motorcycle. Initially, he was granted house arrest, but he was required to return to jail for a new mugshot.

While waiting in the cell, he reportedly engaged in a conversation about sausages with another inmate, 32-year-old Blake Elvis Ermus. According to local news reports, Ermus attacked Gil, resulting in charges of felony battery by a detainee.
“Was having a conversation with the defendant (Ermus) about the ingredients of the sausages. At some point, the defendant approached the victim and punched him multiple times,” an incident report obtained by the outlet read. Ermus was in jail for a misdemeanor domestic battery charge.
Gil’s recent mugshot presents a composed demeanor, in stark contrast to his previous booking photo, which depicted him emotional and disheveled. Prosecutors had sought house arrest for Gil due to apprehensions about his driving conduct. Despite this, he remains under the shadow of pending felony charges, including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.
The motives behind the assault and any potential link to the reported conversation are presently under scrutiny by investigators.
Avraham Gil, hailing from Aventura, garnered significant public interest when his legal representatives made an unsuccessful attempt to invoke diplomatic immunity following his arrest in late January.
Notably, his father holds a position at the Israeli consulate in Miami. The case has drawn attention due to its unique circumstances and the involvement of diplomatic considerations.
