The hospital’s chief executive, Al Russell, stated on Wednesday that they will take all necessary investigatory, regulatory, and disciplinary actions in response to the incident involving unauthorized access to Princess Kate’s medical records at the London Clinic during her stay for abdominal surgery in January .
“There is no place at our hospital for those who intentionally breach the trust of any of our patients or colleagues,” he said in a statement.
Health Minister Maria Caulfield has stated that the police have been requested to investigate the situation. The matter in question involves allegations that staff at The London Clinic attempted to access the private medical records of Princess Kate.
“Whether they take action is a matter for them,” she told LBC radio. “But the Information Commissioner can also take prosecutions,” she added.
“So there are particularly hefty implications if you are looking at notes for medical records that you should not be looking at.”
The London Clinic, situated in London’s Marylebone neighborhood about three kilometers from Buckingham Palace, has a long history of treating several members of the royal family over the years. In January, King Charles III spent a weekend at this prestigious hospital, where he underwent a procedure to address an enlarged prostate.
Subsequently, the palace confirmed that doctors had diagnosed the king with an unspecified form of cancer.
Kensington Palace has provided minimal information regarding Princess Kate’s condition. They have clarified that her ailment is not related to cancer, and the surgical procedure was indeed successful. As a result, the princess will remain absent from public duties until April.
Despite the fact that the specified duration has not yet passed, the princess’s withdrawal from public visibility has ignited a surge of conjecture, gossip, and conspiracy theories. On March 10, the Kensington Palace office of William and Kate released a photograph of Kate alongside her children George, Charlotte, and Louis to coincide with Mother’s Day in the UK.
Kate released a statement acknowledging her penchant for “experimenting with editing” and apologized for any confusion the photograph had generated.
The persistent rumors continue despite the release of footage by The Sun and TMZ, which seemingly captures Kate Middleton and her husband, Prince William, visiting a farm shop near their Windsor home over the weekend.
This video has ignited a fresh wave of speculation, with certain amateur detectives outright doubting whether the woman in the video is Kate.
“I’m not so much shocked that these comments have continued, I’m just confused how exactly they can continue,” he was quoted as saying. “This is a video clearly showing her and William. I saw them with my own eyes.”
