Joe Donor, a sperm donor from Newcastle, UK, has fathered 180 children. He has made significant sacrifices to assist women in achieving pregnancy. Despite his reluctance to disclose his surname, Joe candidly shared his experiences of loneliness and life as a sperm donor.
Over the past 13 years, he has employed a range of methods, including natural insemination, partial insemination, and artificial insemination, to contribute to the process.
Indeed, Joe’s commitment to sperm donation has exacted a toll on his personal life. The demands of his altruistic mission mean he cannot hold down a full-time job or cultivate a romantic relationship. As he succinctly put it, “You always have to be ready should a lady suddenly ovulate – [there’s] no time for romance.”
Despite the fulfillment he finds in his journey, Joe Donor has encountered cruel remarks from others. Unfortunately, many assume that his motivations are solely driven by sexual interests.
”I especially feel hurt when my critics say I only donate as a way to have sex. You would think that, as a natural donor, I would be in the saddle a lot. But I have always said if you want a lot of sexy time, you should get a girlfriend or get married because I only meet women once or twice a month typically.
Because my baby batter is extremely effective, if I am lucky, I will only meet the lovely lady once or twice and then she falls pregnant and I may not see her again for a year or two when she wants a second child,” Joe told What’s The Jam.
He added: ”It can be quite lonely. I have given up my own love life to help others in this selfless way, and even on those rare occasions where there is brief intercourse, I don’t even get a kiss or a cuddle.”
Joe Donor aptly labels his critics as “keyboard warriors”. He astutely observes that the internet has a knack for dehumanizing individuals. Online anonymity emboldens people to unleash hurtful comments, often forgetting that the recipient is a real person. In face-to-face interactions, such harshness would likely be tempered.
When someone reads about another person’s perceived success from behind a computer screen, the impulse to retaliate and launch verbal attacks becomes all too common. The digital realm can be a breeding ground for such behavior.
He openly acknowledges that his work has financial implications. Devoting his life to this unique form of charity, he sustains himself by relying on yellow sticker sales.
Despite barely scraping by financially, he experiences a sense of fulfillment akin to being the Admiral of the Humber! Joe recognizes that wealth extends beyond monetary riches.
His life is enriched by globetrotting experiences, and he finds greater fulfillment in shaping the lives of women he helps conceive and their families than he would in a mundane 9-to-5 office job.
Joe, affectionately known as ‘Britain’s most prolific dad’, has encountered only 60 out of the 180 children he has fathered throughout the years.
Undeterred by the obstacles, Joe unwaveringly pursues his mission of empowering women to embrace motherhood.
