Isra Hirsi, the 21-year-old daughter of U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar, has revealed that she is homeless and has nowhere to live after being suspended from Barnard College. Her suspension came as a result of her participation in disruptive anti-Israel protests at Columbia University last week.
Isra Hirsi was among more than 100 people arrested during the protests, where they set up a tent encampment on the Ivy League school’s campus to protest Israel’s war against Hamas terrorists. Despite her situation, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar expressed pride in her daughter’s activism.

Several students who participated in the protests were suspended from their college housing after they staged sit-ins and refused to vacate the premises at the renowned Ivy League institution last Thursday.
“I was a little bit frantic, like, where am I going to sleep? Where am I gonna go? And also all of my s— is thrown in a random lot. It’s pretty horrible,” she told Teen Vogue. “I don’t know when I can go home, and I don’t know if I ever will be able to.”
Blaming the college administration, she expressed her hunger and homelessness, emphasizing her reliance on campus meals and her dining plan.
Last week, Isra Hirsi and numerous members of Apartheid Divest, an anti-Israel student group, conducted a sit-in protest on the campus.

Before the NYPD removed them, the suspended students and the Congresswoman’s daughter received warnings to vacate the lawn.
“I just received notice that I am 1 of 3 students suspended for standing in solidarity with Palestinians facing a genocide,” Isra wrote on X on Thursday before the police crackdown.
Hirsi said she spent an uncomfortable eight hours in police custody. After her daughter’s arrest, Congresswoman Omar expressed immense pride, while Isra Hirsi asserted that Barnard’s president, Laura Rosenbury, had taken a firm position against the student.
