In South Australia, a 16-year-old boy found himself in a terrifying situation during a fishing trip when a great white shark clamped onto his leg. His father bravely intervened, using his bare hands to pull the shark away and rescue his son.
The incident occurred off a beach in South Australia on Sunday, after the teen accidentally reeled in the massive beast from a small fishing boat.
Without hesitation, the father lunged for the shark to rescue his son. In an interview with a local media outlet, Mr. Michael expressed his fear during the encounter.
However, he went on to describe how he managed to save his son: “I reached in, pried its mouth open, and released it, allowing it to fall back into the water.”
Swiftly responding to the emergency, paramedics arrived at the scene to provide medical assistance to the 16-year-old victim. They promptly stemmed the bleeding and subsequently transported him to Royal Adelaide Hospital for further treatment.

In the South Australia region, there have been only 47 unprovoked shark attacks since records began in 1700, according to the International Shark Attack File. However, New South Wales has experienced the highest number of unprovoked attacks, with 272 incidents.
