A video circulating on social media depicts a Chinese man violently whipping African workers. The accompanying caption, shared by journalist Dom Lucre, describes the employees as being treated like ‘trans-Atlantic slaves.’
In the video, the workers are seated in what appears to be a container, while the Chinese man shouts at them. He proceeds to use a stick to mercilessly beat the workers, prompting them to shield their heads to avoid serious injury.
A Chinese company invested in an African country, and this is how a Chinese boss treats his African employees, like slaves.
Employees should never be treated like this regardless of what they did

Prior instances of such incidents have been documented. In April of last year, the news agency ANI published a report shedding light on the mistreatment of African workers by Chinese project managers.
According to the Geneva Daily, local workers in Africa endure abuse and are coerced into working under harsh conditions, receiving wages significantly below their contracted pay.
Additionally, the report highlights that these employees frequently work long hours.
In 2022, a Chinese man named Sun Shujun received a 20-year prison sentence from a Rwandan court. This decision came after a video of him physically assaulting a worker went viral on the internet.
The incident caused significant outrage among Africans. In response, the Chinese embassy in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital, issued an uncommon statement, advising its citizens in Rwanda to adhere to local laws.
Earlier, a Kenyan worker received over $25,000 in damages from a court after being physically assaulted by their Chinese restaurant employer.
These incidents occur against the backdrop of China’s growing trade partnerships with African nations, which are renowned for their abundant mineral resources.
