Sparks firefighters, in collaboration with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and Reno Fire Department, are working to control another brush fire near Hug High School along Sullivan Lane, urging the public to avoid the affected area.
On Tuesday, June 11, shortly after 9 pm, a fire broke out near Sullivan Lane in Sparks. Authorities have reported multiple accidents in the vicinity due to onlookers. According to News4, the fire has consumed approximately 35 acres.

The Sparks Fire Department and the Bureau of Land Management are both actively involved in combating the fire. According to a Facebook update from Sparks Firefighters, they, along with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and Reno Fire Department, are currently battling a brush fire near Hug High School along Sullivan Lane. Authorities advise avoiding the area and being cautious of first responders on the road.
The department provided an update stating that evacuation orders are in effect. They’ve also shared a link to the evacuation area location and advised affected individuals to proceed to Senior Services at 1155 E. 9th St.
In response to the video, many individuals expressed their heartfelt prayers. One user commented, “Sending love and prayers to the firefighters and first responders who are bravely battling these fires. Thank you all!”
Another user urged everyone to pray for the safety of the fire fighters and first responders. Meanwhile, someone else acknowledged the scarcity of updates and the proximity of the fire to their homes, explaining why people have been driving to witness the situation firsthand.

One user observed flames nearing the Walmart on Pyramid Highway, while another expressed prayers for the firefighters.
In a separate development, the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District shared a video on Facebook showing responders extinguishing the fire.
The caption mentioned that the #TMFR Crews were using Dozer 31 to create a fire line during the Sullivan Fire late at night in Sparks.
