If re-elected in 2024, former US President Donald Trump, running as the Republican candidate, has pledged to execute the most extensive deportation effort ever seen in American history.
Speaking at a convention in Michigan, Trump urged his supporters to vote in November for a President who would expel “radical Islamic terrorists” from the country.
“In November, every voter faces a straightforward choice: elect a President who permits thousands of radical Islamic terrorists into our nation, or choose one who decisively removes them,” he stated.
He declared, “From the first day of my new administration, we will initiate the most extensive deportation effort America has ever seen. We have no alternative. This situation cannot continue.”
Trump’s remarks coincided with efforts from the Republican camp to emphasize what they term as a ‘migrant invasion.’
Leading up to the election, Trump and his supporters have crafted a narrative suggesting that Democratic President Joe Biden has relaxed immigration policies, frequently linking crimes committed by migrants to what they call “Biden migrant crime.”
Leading up to the election, Trump has repeatedly advocated for his anti-immigrant policies, urging a complete rejection of immigrants on several occasions.
In his most recent statement on Saturday, Trump indirectly referenced the recent arrest of eight individuals suspected of ISIS ties, asserting, “Our country faces unprecedented peril.”
He claimed that thousands of terrorists are entering the US and warned, “Our nation will endure severe consequences for many years to come.”
In April, he referred to immigrants in the US as “animals” and reiterated his claim that they are “corrupting the fabric of our nation,” sparking intense criticism.
