A woman from Florida has inexplicably disappeared in Spain. Ana Knezevich, a Colombian native who is now a US citizen, was undergoing a divorce when she went missing. Prior to her disappearance, her family and friends reported receiving unusual messages from her.
Knezevich, a resident of Fort Lauderdale and aged 40, chose to journey to Europe during her divorce proceedings with her husband from Serbia. She had taken up residence in a leased apartment in Madrid in December and was in regular contact with her friends.

Sanna Rameau, a friend of Knezevich, informed WSVN that the last sighting of Knezevich by neighbors was on February 2. Rameau sent her a text on the day of her disappearance but received no response. However, Knezevich messaged her the following day, mentioning that she had met a man on the street and felt an immediate “connection” with him.
Knezevich informed Rameau that they were en route to a rural residence located two hours away from Madrid. She mentioned that her mobile reception was weak. “I’ll ring you upon my return,” she said.
Rameau, worried for Knezevich’s well-being, requested her to disclose the location of her destination. She further questioned if it was prudent for her to journey with a man she had only recently become acquainted with.
“We received very bizarre messages from her phone, I have to say from her phone because I don’t believe it was her sending it, that Saturday afternoon after she disappeared. That she had met a man on the street,” Rameau said
“She has not left on her own,” Rameau said. “She has been taken against her will and by who, I don’t know.”
Other relatives have also reported receiving peculiar messages in Spanish, but they are skeptical that these were sent by Knezevich. Her family members have reached out to the authorities in Spain, and an investigation into the matter is currently underway.
Felipe Henao, Knezevich’s brother, had a conversation with Chris Cuomo from Newsnation. He expressed, “I am aware that they are exerting their utmost efforts. I yearn for enhanced cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the US and Spain. We are talking about an American citizen who has gone missing overseas. All I desire is the safe return of my sister.”
In the meantime, officials have discovered security video from Knezevich’s residence that depicts an unidentified man, donned in a black helmet, obscuring two cameras with spray paint. Rameau expressed her anguish, “I’m experiencing my most dreadful fear. I’ve never encountered such agony in my life because I’m clueless about what transpired with her, someone has inflicted harm on her and I’m at a loss as to why.”
Rameau subsequently traveled to Madrid to engage in discussions with the Spanish officials, pleading for assistance from the American authorities. She expressed her desperation, “I am simply longing for her return. I am appealing to the American authorities for their intervention. We are dealing with a missing American citizen overseas, and it seems like no action is being taken by anyone in America,” she voiced out.
