On Sunday, former Miss Ecuador contestant Landy Párraga Goyburo, 23, was gunned down in a restaurant in Quevedo, Ecuador. The incident occurred in broad daylight after she had been linked to a notorious gang boss who attempted to conceal their connection.
In a chilling scene caught on CCTV, two armed assailants abruptly entered the restaurant where Parraga Goyburo and another man were seated. As Goyburo engaged in conversation, the gunmen stealthily approached. Reacting swiftly, she dropped to the floor, while the man beside her sought cover.

As per reports from local Ecuavisa, Landy Parraga Goyburo had traveled to Quevedo to participate in a wedding ceremony on Saturday.
Authorities are actively investigating the incident, aiming to uncover the motive behind the attack and identify the individuals responsible.
Landy Parraga, who represented Los Ríos Province in the 2022 Miss Ecuador contest, had over a million followers on her social media accounts. At the young age of 23, she owned a household goods importing business and ran her own sportswear line.
Back in December, Landy Parraga’s name surfaced during a conversation between drug trafficker Leandro Norero and his accountant, Helive Angulo.
During their conversation, Angulo informed drug trafficker Leandro Norero that the police had inquired about Ms. Párraga.
“If my wife discovers anything related to her, I’ll be in serious trouble. My friend, her name must remain confidential; otherwise, my entire world will collapse,” said Norero.
Leandro Norero was killed in prison in 2022, just six months after his imprisonment.
Despite the Attorney General’s Office scrutinizing Párraga’s finances, she remained unprosecuted for any criminal activity and refrained from making any public statements regarding her ties to Norero and his criminal network.
On Wednesday in her final Instagram post made at the beach, Párraga wrote: “The world is an echo, what you send into it, you get out of it.”
