Emirates airline received commendation for their customer-centric service when a man’s 15-year-old daughter missed her connecting flight from Dubai. Manish Kalghatgi, who lives in Puducherry, shared that his child was traveling solo from Casablanca, Morocco to Chennai.
Despite her eagerness and excitement to travel alone, Mr. Kalghatgi’s family felt concerned due to the travel disruptions caused by rain in Dubai. Notably, more than 500 flights were either diverted, delayed, or canceled in the country.
In an appreciation post on X (formerly Twitter), he shared that his 15-year-old daughter, M, successfully flew unaccompanied from Casablanca to Chennai—a significant milestone as it was her first solo international journey.
This is an appreciation post for @emirates.
Yesterday, daughter M (15) flew unaccompanied from Casablanca to Chennai – her first solo international journey. While she was excited to travel alone, we were a bit on the edge given the chaos EK went through in the past week… 1/4

In a separate post, the father mentioned that due to ongoing flight disruptions, his daughter, M, missed her 2 am connection at DXB. However, he praised the airline for their exceptional handling of the situation.
The airline staff met M on the aircraft, informed her about the flight changes, and escorted her to a transit hotel room for rest and recovery before her next flight.
In the early hours, I received a call from an exceptionally calm and reassuring Emirates executive. They informed me about my daughter’s missed connection and the steps they were taking.
The communication was so effective that I never felt concerned about M’s situation afterward.
In his closing remarks, he expressed admiration for the airline’s “service excellence” and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.
Despite the recent disruptions in Emirates’ operations at DXB, their swift recovery demonstrated a true focus on serving passengers exceptionally well.
Dubai recently encountered an extraordinary weather phenomenon when intense thunderstorms swept across the city. These storms disrupted air travel and led to widespread flooding on the streets throughout the United Arab Emirates, resulting in the suspension of normal activities.
According to the state-run weather agency, this rainfall event was unprecedented, as Dubai had not experienced such heavy rain in 75 years.
