On Tuesday morning, the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah launched over 100 rockets into northern Israel, as reported by Israel’s military. This intense barrage is one of the heaviest in a series of cross-border strikes that have raised concerns about the potential expansion of the conflict beyond the Gaza Strip.
The exact number of rockets that landed or were intercepted by Israeli air defenses remains unclear at this time.
In northeastern Lebanon, two Israeli airstrikes resulted in the loss of at least one life and left eight people wounded. These strikes targeted a warehouse, which was believed to be used for storing food.
Notably, this warehouse was part of Hezbollah’s Sajjad Project, where food was sold to people in their stronghold at prices lower than the market rates.
Hezbollah’s statement indicates that they fired the rockets in retaliation for Israeli military strikes in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley. Additionally, it serves as a demonstration of solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.
