During a Juneteenth celebration in Round Rock, Texas, on Saturday evening, a celebration turned tragic when a shooter unleashed automatic gunfire into the throng, wounding at least six individuals, including two minors. The victims are currently in serious medical condition.
Although there are unverified claims of fatalities, official confirmation has not been issued by the authorities. The incident at Old Settlers Park is under investigation by the Round Rock Police Department.
“The situation remains fluid, and we are in the midst of an investigation. We urge the public to steer clear of the vicinity,” stated the police department in an earlier announcement on X. First responders and law enforcement are currently on site.

Austin-Travis County EMS has acknowledged attending to an emergency call and has transported six individuals, two of whom are children, to nearby medical facilities. It is reported that all victims have incurred injuries that could be serious.
KVUE ABC reports that a tragic incident resulted in the death of two people, with several injured, during a Juneteenth festival. Later information indicates that the death toll may have increased to three.
The shooting occurred amidst a confrontation between two groups near the vendor stalls, leading to gunfire. The shooter has not been apprehended, and it’s unclear if there were multiple shooters involved, according to Round Rock Police.
Hours after the reported tragedy, a separate incident unfolded at a Michigan splash pad. A shooter opened fire at Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad in Rochester Hills, injuring 10 people, including children.
Sheriff Michael Bouchard stated in a press briefing that the assailant fired around 30 shots from a 9mm Glock handgun, with several reloads, after exiting a vehicle at the site around 5 p.m. local time.
