John Barnett, a former Boeing employee with 32 years of service, retired in 2017. He gained prominence for raising concerns about the company’s production standards. Recently, he was actively participating in a whistleblower lawsuit against Boeing when he tragically passed away.
His unwavering commitment to safety and quality standards led him to raise serious concerns about Boeing’s aircraft production. Specifically, he uncovered significant issues related to the planes’ oxygen systems.
His death occurred in South Carolina on March 9, 2024, and authorities have confirmed it as a “self-inflicted” wound. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his demise.
In a statement Monday, Boeing said: ”We are saddened by Mr. Barnett’s passing, and our thoughts are with his family and friends.”
Indeed, Boeing consistently denied the charges brought forth by John Barnett. Despite the company’s stance, Mr. Barnett’s unwavering commitment to safety and transparency left an indelible mark on the aviation industry.
