Liron Petrushka, a prominent Israeli tech investor, and his wife Naomi tragically lost their lives in a plane crash in California. The unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday night as their high-performance aircraft attempted to land at Truckee Tahoe Airport, situated near the California-Nevada border.
According to Flight Aware, the plane, a Daher TBM 700, took off from Centennial Airport in south Denver at 4:20 p.m. Mountain Time on Saturday.

In a recent Facebook update, authorities from Truckee Tahoe Airport reported that the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are currently at the crash site.
The incident occurred yesterday at 6:38 PM and involved a single-engine TBM N960LP. Tragically, the accident resulted in two fatalities on Union Pacific rail property, situated to the south of Glenshire Drive, between the rail line and the Truckee River.
Authorities from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are currently investigating the cause of the crash. Notably, the couple were prominent Israeli tech investors and entrepreneurs who had been residing in California for several years.
According to Fox News, Mr. Petrushka co-founded a successful tech company with his wife, which was later acquired for an impressive $242 million. Over the past few years, the couple actively participated in various tech ventures while living in California.

Their investment portfolio included Check, a company that was purchased by the American financial giant Intuit in 2014 for approximately $360 million, as well as the fintech unicorn Next Insurance.

According to the Times of Israel, Liron Petrushka, a former professional soccer player in Israel, tragically lost his life along with his wife. Einav Hazenvald, the chairman of Petrushka’s former soccer team, expressed their condolences: “The club mourns the loss of Liron Petrushka and his wife.
Liron was a club stalwart, having been part of our soccer family since the age of 10. He played in all our teams, from youth to adults, and even contributed to our national championship victory.” The couple leaves behind four children, and their legacy will forever be remembered.
