Firefighters battled the flames for nearly 90 minutes before successfully extinguishing the blaze. The London Fire Department expressed gratitude to the multiple 911 callers who promptly alerted them about the train fire.
Their swift response allowed them to contain the fire in the downtown area, minimizing damage and preventing any injuries.
The train was later relocated to a rail yard, where fire crews continued their efforts to extinguish the smoldering material. Although a fire department official did not specify the cause of the fire, they classified the incident as an arson case.
Startled witnesses documented the striking scene as the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway (CPKC) freight train traversed a residential neighborhood in Ontario.
