A Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner operated by Air Europa on a flight from Madrid to Montevideo encountered severe turbulence, necessitating an emergency landing in Brazil. According to the BBC, thirty individuals were reported injured. The airline confirmed that flight UX045 was diverted to Natal airport in northeastern Brazil.
According to an Air Europa spokesperson, a plane carrying 325 passengers experienced turbulence near the Brazilian coast. The aircraft landed without incident, with ambulances on standby.

Brazilian medical teams informed local media that they provided care to at least 30 passengers, with ten of them admitted to hospitals. The airline stated that the injured passengers are currently receiving medical attention, as reported by the publication, as stated by the BBC.
Numerous passengers of different nationalities suffered head injuries, including cranial fractures and facial cuts, as a result of the turbulence.
